Constant Horsepower
The DynaMotor™ produces constant horsepower over a 4 to 1 speed range eliminating the need for speed reduction up to 5 to 1.
High Torque at Low Speed
Standard induction motors run at 3600, 1800, or 900 rpm depending on the number of field poles. While increasing the number of poles reduces the base speed of the motor, torque is NOT increased therefore the horsepower of the motor is reduced. Consequently inductions motors with base speeds lower than 900 rpm are not practical due to their large size and high cost. Lower machine speeds are realized with mechanical speed reduction such as a gear box.
On the other hand, increasing the number for field poles in the DynaMotor not only decreases speed, torque is increased holding horsepower roughly constant. This characteristic permits the DynaMotor to eliminate or simplify mechanical speed reducers. The graph below compares a 1 HP 8 pole DynaMotor to a 1 HP 4 pole induction motor
